Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument® (HBDI®)

The Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument® (HBDI®) is one of the world’s leading non-psychometric self-awareness tools.  It is based on 20 years of scientific research by Ned Herrmann, who from this research developed the Whole Brain Thinking Model®. Herrmann’s research concluded that we all have preferences for the way our brain processes the information we receive through our senses.  This influences how we interact with other people, how we communicate and the language we use.

HBDI is tool that analyses our “operating systems” – our brain – and exposes how we think. It can be used to enhance individual and group performance.

HBDI look at our brain in quadrants, showing left and right hemispheres and the cerebral and limbic components. Herrmann’s research showed that each quadrant has particular functions that we can all apply but not equally, usually due to individual preferences.

As a tool, HBDI provides a building block for individual, partnership and group development. It shows individuals and groups why they think as they do. This self-awareness allows people to understand what they have to contribute and where they may require development.

At Learning Partnerships we use Herrmann certified HBDI
® practitioners to work with you to help you understand your individual, small and large group profiles. We will also help you understand how this influences your communication, your working relationships and your work.  We achieve this by showing you how your organisation can harness the thinking styles of every individual to produce great results.
