GENOS Emotional Intelligence Programs

What is Emotional Intelligence?

Emotional Intelligence (EI) or emotional quotient (EQ) is a set of skills that help us better perceive, understand and manage emotions in ourselves and in others. Collectively they help us make intelligent responses to, and use of, emotions. These skills are as important as your intellect (IQ) in determining success in work and in life. Everyone, no matter what job function, has interactions with other people. Your capacity to understand your emotions, to be aware of them and how they impact the way you behave and relate to others, will improve your ‘people‘ skills and help you ultimately be more satisfied and successful.

Learning Partnerships offers a range of the internationally acclaimed Emotional Intelligence courses to help build and strengthen within your workplace.

Emotional Intelligence Programs

One Day Enhancement Program

Most leaders recognise the importance of keeping people engaged, motivated and committed to their work and organisation. Indeed, it’s a common requirement of most leadership positions. However, most leaders will also tell you that keeping people engaged, motivated and committed isn’t so easy a task. Many factors influence an individual’s motivation ranging from day-to-day tasks, right through to the working styles of colleagues. What is motivating for one can be de-motivating for others. The Engaging Leader Program is a powerful one-day leadership program bringing together the latest developments in Neuroscience, Human Motivation and Emotional Intelligence to help leaders enhance levels of motivation, commitment and engagement in their teams.

Objectives

This program has been designed to help leaders enhance levels of motivation, commitment and engagement in their team.

In this program, participants will:

discuss what employee engagement is, how it’s typically measured and why it’s important to organisational performance,

examine feedback on engaging leadership competencies and determine leadership behaviours you could demonstrate to enhance staff motivation and engagement, and

practise applying models and techniques for enhancing individual staff motivation and engagement at work.

Highlights

  • Understanding employee engagement and why it’s important to organisational performance
  • Insight, feedback and know-how on leadership competencies that motivate and engage people
  • A model, process and techniques for enhancing individual staff motivation and engagement at work.

One Day Enhancement Program

Leadership is fundamentally about facilitating high performance, thereby motivating others to do things effectively and efficiently. Emotional intelligence is a key attribute that helps leaders achieve this function. There is a wealth of literature detailing the impact emotion has on individuals’ performance. This research has shown, for example, that people perform their best at work when they feel involved in purposeful work that develops who they are, and when they feel valued, cared for, consulted, respected, informed and understood. This research has also shown that people often perform their worst when they feel unproductive feelings, such as feeling overly worried, frustrated, concerned, stressed, inadequate and fearful.

Objectives

During this program, you will improve your understanding of emotions and emotional intelligence. You will also explore and practise tools and techniques for applying emotional intelligence in leadership, and creating high performance in others on that basis.

In this program, participants will:

explore the neuroscience of emotions and emotional intelligence,

examine tools and techniques for effectively asking for, and responding to, feedback,

explore techniques for developing self and other awareness,

examine how we can use reactive and proactive techniques to build our resilience and effectively manage strong emotions, and

explore an approach for facilitating engagement discussions with staff members.

Highlights

  • Personal resilience quiz
  • Proactive strategies and techniques for:
  • Thinking
  • Physiology
  • Relationships
  • Environment
  • Workplace experience reflection model
  • 5-step process to facilitating employee engagement reviews

One Day Enhancement Program

The Resilient Leader is a powerful one day program that brings together the latest developments in Neuroscience, Emotional Intelligence and Resilience to help leaders enhance their well-being, feel less stressed and facilitate resilience and well-being in their teams. Self-management is an emotionally intelligent leadership competency and is about managing one’s own mood and emotions, time and behaviour, and continuously improving oneself. Leaders high in self-management pay careful attention to the way they manage time and how they behave. They are often described as ‘resilient’ rather than ’temperamental’, and they use their self-management skills to create positive workplace cultures.

Objectives

During this program participants will improve their understanding of resiliency, explore and practise tools and techniques for developing their resiliency in the workplace, and action-plan ways to enhance their personal wellbeing and the wellbeing of their team.

In this program, participants will:

explore the neuroscience of emotions and emotional intelligence,

study our emotional intelligence assessment results and how to boost them, and

practise tools and techniques to build our own and others’ resilience.

Highlights

  • Personal resilience quiz
  • Proactive strategies and techniques for:
  • Thinking
  • Physiology
  • Relationships
  • Environment

  • Feel less stressed and better equipped to manage high work demands,
  • Create a positive work environment for others, and
  • Be better equipped to positively influence the decisions, behaviour and performance of work colleagues.

Structure and Format

Combining learning methodologies with a learning-journey structure (assessments before and after the program), participants experience enduring improvements in their emotional intelligence.

There are six core modules of the program. Each session, delivered in a two-hour professionally facilitated format, includes:

  • Relevant pre-work,
  • Cutting-edge research,
  • Experiential scenarios, and
  • On-the-job applications.

The program has been structured around the 70:20:10 learning ratio. That is,

  • 10% of learning occurs in formal learning sessions
  • 20% occurs through conversation with others, and
  • 70% occurs through practice and experience.

The program uses the following methodologies:

  • Mindset - inspirational research or leading edge content to shift participants' mindsets,
  • Toolset - models, approaches and techniques to achieve goals, and
  • Skillset - learning how to accomplish goals through practice.

The program contains a Time 1 and a Time 2 Genos EI Leadership Feedback Report. The assessment at the beginning helps personalise the program and allows participants to receive results and feedback on their current EI Leadership Behaviour. In knowing they will receive a second assessment, this helps participants to have a growth mindset and to understand the importance of ongoing development.

MICHELLE LYONS

Miranda delivered Board Ready training for me and my other new Board members in an agri-tech start-up business in March. It was fantastic. We learned so much, from the details of our roles, through legal responsibility - and perhaps most importantly for our new company - she facilitated the elucidation of our core principles and established the beginning of our risk appetite and matrices. I thoroughly recommend this course.

MERISSA MARTINEZ

Big thanks to Adrian for his willingness to challenge and inspire through his training and mentoring

CHAD WOTHERSPOON

My daughter just completed one of the courses. One of the best courses she has done.

Gave her an insight into herself, confidence and great skills to use when she finishes Year 12 this year.

Highly recommend it to any teenagers coming up to their final year of school. Wish this was in all schools for students.

BRENDAN WRIGHT

Having worked for corporates for most of my career I found that I had built a resume of "internally" recognised qualifications and had not invested the time in gaining external qualifications. This was both a mental barrier and a potentially limiting situation.

Doing the RPL meant that all of the skills that I demonstrate in my leadership career could be acknowledged in a qualification that would be recognised and respected by others.

I found the process to be simple and easy and was well supported by LP along the way. For time poor people with demonstrated experience, this is a really great option and a good tax incentive too.
